Matthew and I had our Valentine's Day on Wednesday and decided we couldn't be selfish about such things, so invited Mr Bush and Mr Bear to join us.
We were a bit nervous about introducing them -- their political views differ drastically. However, we needn't have worried, as they got on immediately.
We took them to the park (Mr Bush is surprisingly adept at spotting shapes in the clouds) and they started an impromptu protest against corporate farming and the disintegration of socio-agricultural stability.
We went to the cinema, where Mr Bush and Mr Bear fooled about posing on the red carpet.
We sat in the Ritzy cafe for a while and chatted over coffee before deciding on Be Kind, Rewind.
What a great film! It actually shut Mr Bush up for a couple of hours.
After the film we had a couple of hours to kill, so we went shopping. Mr Bear tried on a few things, and Mr Bush bought himself a new pair of trousers.
Dinner was had at La Porchetta -- an old favourite of Matthew and me, but new to Mr Bear and Mr Bush. We had olives as a starter, but man did those two knock back the wine.
Eventually things got a little silly. Mr Bear fell off his chair laughing when Mr Bush decided it would be hilarious to pretend to be a walrus.
Then came the inevitable sword fight. Of course, it's all fun and games until somebody gets hurt.
That's when it all went a bit pear-shaped. Mr Bear kind of took things a little too far after that.
Fortunately they make up just in time for the pig to bring us our pizza, but it was a bit ropey there for a while.
At last we made back home to our place for a nightcap, but they both passed out before we even broke out the whiskey. It had been a long day, so we let them sleep while we stayed up watching films and laughing until dawn.

PS I take back what I said in the previous post about disownment due to the use of knitmosphere because this actually made me LOL.

This is the best thing I have seen/read in a very long time. Did Mr. Bear borrow the trousers off Mr. President? Otherwise, I'm hard-pressed to explain that shot to myself.
