I was tagged by Alice for the "Peeps I want to know more about" meme.
The rules: Each player answers the questions about themselves. At the end of the post, the player then tags 5-6 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know they’ve been tagged and asking them to read your blog. Let the person who tagged you know when you’ve posted your answer.
1. What was I doing 10 years ago? Well, it's a Wednesday afternoon, which probably means that ten years ago I was either in the Duke (a Toronto pub) pretending to be 19 and enjoying a sneaky ciggie before going home after school or on my bike heading towards the pool where I taught swimming. (I taught swimming three days a week back then, but I have no idea what days those might have been.)
2. What are 5 things on my to-do list for today (not in any particular order):
a. Make vast editorial changes to Introduction Part Un et Deux,
b. Input all editorial changes to Introduction Part Un et Deux,
c. Text all the people I have not been able to get in contact with for the last ten days, ever since my credit for the month ran out,
d. Meet up with knitterly types for knitterly activity,
e. Go next door and demand to know what all that hammering is in aid of.
3) Snacks I enjoy:
I'm not sure I'm a snack person. I love olives, though, and plain salted corn chips. And yogurt with a bit of honey and some pumpkin seeds. And fresh pineapple with grapefruit. And homemade bread with olive oil drizzled over it with a sprinkling of salt. And carrots with hummous. And a sneaky bit of fudge.
4) Things I would do if I were a billionaire: Ring up Rubbish Books Publishing and tell them to take their freelancing opportunities and stuff 'em.
Then I'd split the cash with my dearheart and we'd whisk ourselves off on a year-long Antipodean holiday while the publicist made sure we remain anonymous, the marketing manager set up a scholarship program for people who work all summer to pay their tuition but can't quite make up the rest and another to sponsor medical research (stem cell mostly, I reckon), and the accountant looked after buying out our landlords, plus the flat below, a Victorian warehouse somewhere near the Greenwich-side Thames to be converted into a studio/place of general awesomeness where all my friends could hang out, with a yarn cafe and vegan treats for all, a chalet in the Spanish mountains and a house with a garden in Munich, finding a home or two for my parents here in the UK and one for my sister in Toronto, and setting up several off-shore accounts.
Then, when we came home, I'd buy a studio and headhunt the producers Matthew wanted to work with so his genius could be felt the world over.
Once all that was done I'd get back to my research and probably keep arguing with Matthew over the price of peppers. I'd also have to get a sky blue Fiat 500, ca. 1967, which I would have converted to use an eco-friendly engine and fuel and begin my collection of vintage cars.5) Places you have lived: I've only lived in three cities in the world (Toronto and Kingston, Ontario and London, UK) but across those cities I have lived in 14 houses, seven of which I have lived in since moving to London. There are all sorts of places I'd like to live...
6) Peeps I want to know more about:
