Yarn: KPM by Koigu and Silky Wool by Elsbeth Lavold
Needles: 2.5 mm Knit Picks Options
Comments: These fingerless mitts were designed as an entry for the contest Katia and Kyliemac were holding for their 200th episode (now rapidly approaching 300), in which I came in 3rd runner up, hurrah!
I had originally envisioned socks, but the Silky Wool just screamed to be mitts of some variety. The hemmed cuff and the colourwork, my humble interpretation of the K&K logo, both help add a bit of extra insulation (much needed these days). As these are inspired by the girls, they naturally boast their own K&K: the ladder that runs up either side of the wrist collapses just a little on one side.
My favourite feature is the button strap that completes the thumb gusset. Tres chic, non?
As promised, I'm offering the pattern here so that any other Katia and Kyliemac fans can sport a pair of their own. The colourwork is actually pretty straightforward; I'm not hugely experienced with working stranded, so I would definitely recommend these for anyone who wants to try it out.
If you'd like in on your own pair of Katia and Kyliemac-inspired mitts, you can download the pattern here.

These are SO awesome they've inspired me to pick up my needles again.
I just need to get me this yarn! They're so pretty!
