So yesterday was a veritable parcel bonanza in the House of Erqsome. Not only did I receive a fabulous box from 'Lista,
but the yarn I had Ravelled from lafileuse came
AND I got a delivery of gorgeous fabric from Fabric Studio.
The parcel from 'Lista, though, is awesome. She knit me a hat and it could not have come at a better time. All that lovely sun we had
through April has turned into May Gross and Cold. I've hardly taken it
off!
Also very appropriate in the current climate, a cake of the softest yarn ever from an alpaca named Emmms!
The picture does not do the rich caramelly, almost Builders' Brew hues at all. Also included were buttons! 'Lista has amazing taste in buttons, but I don't think even she could have imagined how well the Briggs and Little would go with these beauties.
Among all the lovely sweeties, including some truly NOM!able chocolate covered berries and almonds, were Guide Scout Thin Mints. I don't know if you are aware of this, but there are no Girl Guide cookies in the UK. They don't do the cookie runs here. There is no opportunity to promote 'financial skills such as goal setting, decision-making, customer-service and money management' with a Girl Guide Cookie Programme. Which means there are no Girl Scout Thin Mints in the entire UK. Except for these.
And to be honest, they weren't round for long.
Cute hat, great yarn, and oh-my-gosh-Girl-Scout-Cookies-have-their-own-season-in-my-house...how ever do you survive without knowing for sure they are coming once a year? That's just terrible! Well, at least you got some, and those are the best kind!!!
